After removing and Brazil concluded a research facility in North Carolina, HTC has closed its office in the capital of South Korea in Seoul. This is part of efforts by the Taiwanese manufacturer of "streamline operations" and to focus on selling a brand of mobile phones in markets where it has a better chance of success - something like Nokia geographic retirement after commitment to Windows Phone, but here in a much smaller scale. It is unclear how many jobs will be lost, but HTC said he regretted "the direct impact on people who have contributed to the growth of HTC has in recent years." Currently, analysts estimate that Korean manufacturers like Samsung, LG and Pantech rule a quota of 90 percent of its domestic market, leaving HTC with only one or two points which obviously were not worth clinging to.
